How do you know...
by coolhandluke inif your so is cheating on you?
well, she's not my so anymore.
she decided a few days ago that she didn't have it in her to continue the relationship.

Dom,
It's time to move on.
Whether or not you've been cheated on is irrelevent; maybe more of a symptom than a cause.
The main thing is that the connection has been lost, and you're SO has no intention of trying to repair it. You can't do that alone.
Fancy a beer?

Did all those refreshing moments/ideas make you cringe?
by Younglove1999 ini have to admit- the idea of having to live forever and having to continue going to meetings 1,000 times a week and studying "the new scrolls" sounded so annoying and tiring and not at all refreshing and exciting!
i honestly did not look forward to "it" .
when discussing how exciting going to assemblies and conventions would be and how we'd always leave feeling rejuvinated and happy, i never did.

I hated it. Every single wasted minute of my shildhood.
Hated knocking doors, conventions, meetings, study. It's nice to know I wasn't alone!

I find that a big smile, accompanied by an enthusiastic round of applause can really unsettle the offender.....

Online Dating
by FreeGirl2006 in*sigh* i was seeing someone for several months, but it is not working out.
so i went back to my only way of meeting men thus far--online dating sites.
i have had some really cool experiences, but i think i am getting burnt out....if i read one more email from a guy that reads "u r booteful and i wud luv to chat with u and then maybe we go out and eat" (or my personal favorite today--"you are eye-popping"--i am busty and the current picture reveals that little fact) i think i will puke!

Are there any good dating stories out there? Purza
This happened to me a few weeks ago..............
A beautiful and sunny day in historic Ironbridge.
The old riverside town was full of sight-seeing families, and provided the perfect setting to make the first meeting with a lady I've met via Flirtbox.
We met at noon on the bridge itself, and then went to a nearby street cafe for tea al fresco. We chatted for an hour or so; the talk was easy and light.
Following tea, we opted for a walk upstream to the local park to look at the flowers in bloom. We talked some more about family, values and swopped funny stories from our pasts.
Then I became aware of the sound of a police siren. Seconds later a police car drove through the park and pulled up at the waters edge. Two more cars followed. I joked that ther police had come for my companion, as the police helicopter hovered overhead.
And that's when a corpse floated past, face down in the water......I kid you not.
As we stood there a-gawp, the body of a adult in a sweater and wellington boots floated past at a slow walking pace. Face down. In the bright sunshine of a July afternnoon.
The police piled out of their cars and watched.
And so the body drifted downstream at a gentle walking pace. Past the ranks of families on the wharfage. Past the children, and under the packed Ironbridge itself, and on downstream.
My companion joined the police in ushering families onto the other side of the road, away from the spectacle.
http://www.shropshirestar.co.uk/2007/07/fisherman-finds-body-in-river/Good, huh? I originally posted that on the Flirtbox DB. The lady and I spent quite a few nights together over the following weeks, and although we've gone our separate romantic ways now, are still friends. So no regrets there!

Is it ok to shun Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Missanna inlet me explain myself... for instance when your friends and family keep changing their minds... like my sister she didn't want to talk to me, then we started talking again and now she is back to shunning me.
same with my once best friend we were fine with each other's beliefs then one night she tells me in order to have god's favor she has to shun me.
now she's talking to me again.

For my part, shunning would be lowering myself to their level. You must make your own decision, though.
I concur. I really can't be bothered playing them at their own, or anyone elses games, games. Whenever I go to see my JW mum, and she has her friends there, I'll make a point of speaking to everyone of them and asking how they're doing. I'm playing by my own rules. tim

Has anyone found dating as an EX JW difficult?
by sweetstuff injust curious as to what difficulties have faced people dating as an ex jw.
myself, i have noticed the glazed over look in a guy's eyes when you try to explain why your family doesn't celebrate the holidays with you etc.
new to this board, so if this has been well covered before, please forgive me.

sweetstuff,
I've suddenly found myself on the dating merry-go-round again (after a 20 year marriage), and it's such a relief to get this exJW nonsense out in the open without having to feel ashamed of it anymore.
